Insert the CD disc into your computer's CD-ROM drive and restart your computer. Your computer will boot to the CD. Press the spacebar on your keyboard when you are prompted to boot to the disc.

Type "d:" and press "Enter" into the command line. "D" is the drive letter typically assigned to a CD-ROM drive in MS-DOS.

Type "format c: /s" and press "Enter." The "format" utility will format your C hard drive. The "/s" switch formats and copies boot files to the hard drive. This may take several minutes, depending on the size of your hard drive.
