How to Tell How Fast Your Computer Is


You computer speed is determined by a few different factors but mainly when people talk about computer speed, they are generally talking about how fast the computer processes applications and how much it can run before it gets bogged down and slow. Most of this depends on your processor speed which is
measured in gigahertz or (Ghz). The higher the gigahertz, the faster your computer is.

Click the "Start" button and then click "Run."

Type in "Dxdiag" in the Run dialog box and press "Enter."

Wait for the DirectX diagnostic tool to pop up and scan your computer's hardware configuration. It may take a couple minutes for it to scan and display all of your hardware.

Click on the "System" tab of the diagnostic window and look for the type of processor it displays next to the word "Processor."

Make note of how many gigahertz your processor is. The gigahertz will be displayed as the last bit of information of your processor. It will be a set number at the end of your processor description and "gigahertz" will be abbreviated as "Ghz." You now know how to tell how fast your computer is
